Joss Stone介紹這張專輯說，"This is the first album I've made that I really feel is truly me. That's why I'm calling it Introducing Joss Stone. These are my words, and this is who I am as an artist."
原本以為Joss Stone要介紹她的新音樂，但是看了上述的說話和專輯的intro〈Change〉，又覺得這張碟要介紹的，是Joss Stone本人。〈Change〉這樣說：「See, although the players change/the song remains the same」改變的是人而不是音樂？我沒有聽過她以前的歌，這問題非我所能回答，還望有心人指點。
Joss Stone來頭不少，2003年發行首張專輯《The Soul Sessions》，她才16歲。專輯大賣，17歲的她在2004年立即推出第二張唱片《Mind, Body & Soul》。兩張專輯加起來，銷量高達750萬張。單看《The Soul Sessions》的成績就夠瞧了：英國專輯金榜TOP 4，打進全球13個國家TOP 10，在美國、英國、加拿大、德國、奧地利、紐西蘭等國獲得白金及金唱片的銷量。連一代型男湯告魯斯(Tom Cruise)也在電視訪談節目推薦過她。相隔三年，她以二十之齡推出第三張專輯──《Introducing Joss Stone》。

別看Joss Stone身材嬌小，她的歌喉之厚、力量之勁，肯定超乎你想像。不信？看看她在UK Hall Of Fame的表現，你就會信服了。綜觀各地樂壇，唱功能跟她媲美的，一時間只想到兩位天后級歌手：Mary J. Blige和Christina Aguilera。Joss Stone比她們年輕很多，只要堅持唱下去，必能超越二人。 介紹都形容她為靈魂樂歌手，以歌聲論，無疑是充滿靈魂味，可是以音樂論，Joss Stone絕不圃於靈魂樂。以本專輯為例，音樂風格起碼揉合了Jazz、R&B、Hip Pop三種，所以音樂的節奏絕不緩慢，相反頗為輕快。用James Morrison的嗓子唱justin timberlake的音樂，就跟Joss Stone差不多了。(笑)
《Introducing Joss Stone》的歌曲合為14首，不算intro和outro，12首之中11首是情歌。唯一的例外是第七首〈music〉，不過也把音樂當作情人來唱。情歌不免平直，歌詞看得上眼的只有〈bruised but not broken〉一首。"And I'll be alright/And I'll love again/And the wounds will mend/I'm bruised but not broken/And the pain will fade/I'll overcome my fear/Is not the end of me/My heart is still open now/I'm bruised but not broken"，心只是傷了沒有死，這達觀的態度值得失戀人士再三細味。
主打歌〈tell me bout it〉節奏明快，搶耳非常。〈arms of my baby〉一曲盡見Joss Stone的唱功，最後一段吶喊令人想起Mary J. Blige的代表作〈Be Without You〉。至於喜歡soul和jazz的朋友，〈what were we thinking〉是必聽之作。
